Patti was nervous about meeting the relatives visiting from overseas. They had known that he he'd started out life as Patrick, but still....
Her mother's words didn't put her at ease:
"Patti, before our guests arrive I wanted to have a little talk. Your Aunt Joan tells me that one of the boys can be a bit "handsy." It's the reason I wanted you to wear your long skirt. Much harder for him to put a hand up your skirt and discover your secret. We women have to be on guard for such things."

Patti's mother had introduced Patti to her Aunt Joan's son William. "Why don't you show your cousin, your room Patti sweetie, while I catch up with your aunt over tea?
"Yes, mom."
Patti guided William to her room upstairs. The room was like that of any teen girls, pink and girly.
Once inside her cousin asked her a question, "Have you ever played 'House' before Patti?"
"Ahh no, how do you play it?
After hearing that, William made sure to shut and lock the door.
