Pick of Week: Fair Lady
This Story Pick of the Week comes from Lisa Lovelace on the Fictionamania website, her story is Fair Lady. It is a story about a young male teen kicked out of his blue collar New Jersey home after being discovered trying on some girl's clothes by his father. He wanders New York City for a few days with no where to go really until he encounters two eccentric upper class gentlemen. Out of their kindness they take the young man into their home in Manhattan and help the newly named, "Liza" become a proper young lady of upper New York City class.

Wow," I said. "I think I'm about to die of an overdose of cute. Isn't it kinda over the top in terms of girliness?"
"No," he said. "Our boys will love it. I don't think they've ever worn a stitch of female clothing themselves, but they seem to get off on making me look as feminine as possible. So do I, fortunately."
"You're very pretty," I said.
"Looks like I have competition in that department," he said.
I unzipped the dress, wriggled into it and threaded my arms into the little lace-trimmed sleeves. Pierce zipped me up and fussed with it until he was satisfied. He parted my hair in the middle and pulled it back with some little pearl clips. In the mirror, I looked like a rich girl from the Hamptons on her way to a sweet sixteen party. I'd never felt so young, so fresh, so feminine.

Story Pick of the Week: Becoming a Gill
Becoming a Gill is a sweet, but intriguing short story from Fictionmania author Maryanne Peters. The mother of the Gill family is still trying to cope with the death of her young daughter which leave a void in the family and their lives. One day she encounters a young runaway boy outside her home. He is polite, but hungry and very much filled with a mysterious past, she "adopts" the young boy and tries to honor his request to keep his identity and location a secret she does, but under the condition that she can hide his identity by dressing him up as a girl!

"I want to accept you as Paris," he began. "A Guest in our house. No, not just a guest, family. But I have read about the person that you were before you came here. And I am worried. I could not allow that person to stay here, with us."
He was watching Paris's face. The color drained out of it. The hard part was done.
"As a girl, you present no threat," he continued. "So, it is a girl you must become."
"What do you want me to do?" she asked softly, with a hint of fear in her voice. "What do I need to do, to be able to stay?"
The family accepts the young boy as girl, but with time he begins to accept more of his newfound gender identity...thus is he Becoming a Gill ?
